This video is quite different to any other on our channel. We found out while filming that despite going to Korea 70 years ago, the Brigadier had never tried Korean BBQ before. We obviously wanted to give him an amazing experience of Korean food and show him a small part of Korea's incredible development since the war, but as we shared this lovely Korean meal with him the food became less of a focus as he generously shared some of his story with us. He was extremely complimentary of everything he ate and tried, and he seemed to be genuinely enjoying himself, but what really left an impact on us was his honesty and insight as a British soldier who saw Korea long before we were ever born.

Huge thanks to Brigadier (Retd) B.A.H. Parritt CBE for filming with us today. He was a real gentleman, and this video doesn't do full justice to his humility and kindness on and off camera towards us. We hope to see him again soon!

이번 영상은 저희 채널의 다른 영상들과 많은 차이가 있어요. 촬영하는 와중에 브리자디어님이 70년 전에 한국에 갔을 때 한국식 바비큐를 먹은 적이 없으시다는 걸 알았는데요, 그래서 더욱더 전쟁 후에 발전한 한국의 맛있는 음식을 경험하게 해드리고 싶었어요. 하지만 맛있는 한국 음식을 먹으면서 이야기를 들을수록 브리자디어님의 이야기들에 집중하게 되었고 음식에는 포커스가 덜 맞춰졌어요. 너무도 감사하게도 브리자디어님이 음식들을 다 맛있게 좋아하면서 드셨지만, 저희에게 큰 임팩트와 여운을 남긴 건 그분의 진심과 영국 군인의 관점에서 본 저희 태어나기도 전의 한국이었어요.
