The Orchids are a household name in the sport of 7s rugby in Papua New Guinea and gain huge support in 7s rugby tournaments, with the support behind the team and the talent that is synonymous with Black Orchids rugby, the young men didn't disappoint, those that braved the scorching heat at Bava Park and showers on the final day, at the Sir John Guise Stadium, were given a satisfying payoff.

The Black Orchids have become two-time champions in the annual Niu Power Sports Tok 7s tournament, the team from the Autonomous Region of Bougainville won in 2022 and this year managed their second Cup win when they defeated Port Moresby-based Gerehu Natives.
